Why Not Pile On...

...while the Repubs devour their own?

I thought there still might be a crumb of respect for McCain left me even after this rotten campaign, but there isn't. He's morally bankrupt and a loser. He might have had a legacy to be proud of, but he burned it in the fires of his ambition. I hope the defeat next week is crushing, brutal, and massive, taking the maximum of down-ticket Republicans and starting up a right-wing cannibal carnival the likes of which we haven't seen in history.

Was this satire? I sure hope so. Your bitching about HIS ambition?! WTF? Yeah that JUNIOR senator obviously has no ambition what so ever. By the way, look up the numbers as to how much each campaign has given to other races in their party. McLame is in the millions and Hussien is in the thousands. Now who is more ambitious about getting themselves elected?

Also, look into the funds raised via the internet where one campaign has turned off the AVS system to ease contibution fraud. No corruption or ambition there either i guess.

I know you are more intelligent than this.

Resorting to the Rovian school of politics, which McCain was a sad victim of in 2000, is one reason I lost respect for him. He kept mum about Bush's signing statement exempting himself from the anti-torture bill that he signed, that was another. His reconciliation of the "agents of intolerance," the revs Robertson and Falwell, that's another. Choosing an anti-science, relgious fanatic as a running mate, that was a really telling moment, as he kneeled deeper and deeper trying to kiss the crack of the lunatic base of the Republican Party.

Of course Obama is ambitious. But has he or his campaign exhibited behavior similar to what McCain has sunk to and allowed, like "palling around with terrorists," and "socialist" red-baiting antics? His campaign is an excellent example of how an executive can be effective, unlike McCain's hither-and-thither dashing and weekly reinventions.

McCain is a used-up hack, haunted by the same Oedipal need to outdo his father and grandfather, not much differently than our current fearless leader. Obama may have demons driving him, but I think that he does understand that this nation is in need of an overhaul a la FDR and the New Deal. We are in a very, very serious economic and international situation that the Republicans either cannot or will not confront.

It's time to have things shaken up. We need youth, vigor, curiosity, and intelligence. McCain is a smart man, but morally he's become weak and instead of controlling this campaign he has let it control him. It's over, Johnny.

And no, I'm not more intelligent than this. In fact, I'm rather a simpleton, which is my fundamental charm, don't you think?

OK, where to begin?

First off, I have no dog in this fight. I think both parties are equally corrupt, and I will probably be sitting home on Nov. 4th. (Actually I will be working, and I am not taking the day off as O'bambi wants us all to do.) I tend to lean toward a libertarian philosophy, but I really hate labels in general.

McLame has been anti-torture for obvious reasons all along, and has screamed it from the mountain tops several times.

The fact that you bring up a "reconciliation" with Robertson and Fallwell, but neglect to bring up "G-D America" Jeremiah Wright is laughable. And O'bambi sat in those pews for 20+ years. Puuuuleeeze. Next.

Exactly how is is Palin anti- science, and a religious "fanatic"?. Please do provide sources other that left wing drivel. I don't think she is the smartest tool in the shed, but everything I have seen shows her to be a typical middle america mom.

I don't blame the McLame campaign for bringing up O'bambi's associations. I do think it is relevent to his character. And Ayers is a fucking domestic terrorist. And O'bambi is friends with the guy. O'bambi has such a short list of experience, i think it is relevent. I could be wrong. As far as the socialist mantra; I think that is fair game as well. But McLame is as guilty of it as much as O'bambi with the whole bail-out fiacso. Nationalized banking is the beginning of socailism and wealth disribution. I personally think the government has NO FUCKING RIGHT to spend my hard earned money. The government couldn't run a lemonade stand.

I don't know about us needing youth. I would place my money on experience every time. I guess we can agree to disagree.

And yes I just love your simpleton charm!! :)

I find it so hilarious, C., that you have bought hook, line, and sinker everything that Fox news has told you to say about Obama. It's really quite priceless.

I don't have a lot of time to spend on automatons like you, C., but here's a little link about Palin you might find fascinating:

And that guy on the video? He earned his fame hunting witches in Kenya. Yep. Hunting witches. Can anyone say "Salem"????

hey cb,

i didn't realize i rattled your cage, but so be it. calling me names immediately diminishes any discourse. that being said....

thanks for the link. i had not seen that before. you're right that is some pretty crazy shit. i asked for a source and got it.

fyi ~ i watch several news outlets and read several websites. i am not naive enough to believe ANYTHING from only one source. Everyone these days has their own agenda. So you can drone on and on about the dastardly fox news all you want. I really don’t care. No one “tells” me what to say about anything. I am critical of both parties for many reasons. Any one who isn’t critical is an absolute fool. So, please cb, provide proof for alleged falsehoods of the assertions of my above post. If not, then just STFU as you are embarrassing yourself.

So...C., maybe you would say you read "all the news"? Hmmmm...that sounds a lot like someone else I know...

and one other thing, for every link you provide on Palin being an idiot, and can supply 10 of Biden being just as moronic. exactly what would be the point? like i said earlier, both parties suck.

I'm still waiting to get a refutation of McCain's silence on Bush's "signing statement" that exempts him from the anti-torture law. If McCain were a "maverick" (and James Garner was the real Maverick), then he would have defied Bush and his party and screamed from the rafters that a ban on torture was absolute, and NO ONE was exempt.

As for Wright, he had nowhere near the prominence of Falwell and Robertson and had a tiny, tiny constituency by comparison. Remember, those two clowns, before the dust even settled after 9/11, were blaming gays and people who support abortion as complicit in the attacks. Obama repudiated Wright, while McCain just embraced Robertson and Falwell even more tightly when his advisers made it clear that he could not afford to lose one right-wing Christo-fascist vote.

I don't know why I'm even getting involved in this, but...

A) Progressive Tax policy is NOT socialism. There's a really good book called "The Communist Manifesto" which is a great source for clearing up this misunderstanding. I'm sure you can find a copy at your local library, as long as you don't live in Wasilla, Alaska, where Sarah Palin thinks she has the right to ban books that contradict her points of view.

B) Bill Ayers is actually a fantastic teacher and brilliant educational policy analyst at one of the best universities in the country, the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is hardly a domestic terrorist these days (unless you believe, as some in the republican party seem to, that educating inner city black kids is domestic terrorism), though I'm not condoning his Weather Underground days... I'm a pacifist. I can also speak from the perspective of an NPO director who spends a lot of time with a Board of Directors... the people who serve on these things are NOT even remotely "pals." Many of them actively dislike each other.

C) You're not voting, C? Doesn't this sort of disqualify you from political discourse? I mean, come on! Write in Ron Paul or something. Bob Barr may even be on the ballot in your state. Just vote.

mb,

Thanks for regulating. I didn't have time to list out reasons why C's remarks lack real substance.

C--if you're out there, it's not that I don't want to debate, it's just that I don't debate with people who spout out stupid stuff that they learned from some innane mass email. My racist, senile grandma tells me that stuff about Obama all the time...what's your excuse?
