"Principiis obsta; Finem respice." Olaf Rotkohl thinks that the pursuit of power over others is in itself a corruption, and those who seek such power are fundamentally corrupt. This space is dedicated as part of the constant challenge to those who seek to wield authority over the rest of us, keeping them on notice that they exert power only as it is granted to them by the people.

I just can't wait to see the commentary from this site once the chosen one is in office. It will be interesting to see if you hold Obambi to the same standards as you did for Bush. The "everything is Bush's fault" mantra will not work anymore. I genuinely wish Obama the best even though I did not vote for him. He is our POTUS and I respect the office, but I will be watching closely.
I'll be watching closely too. People in power, whatever their ideology, are to be held to the same standards and scrutiny. President Obama gets no pass, I promise you. In the near term, I can bet that it will be the lobbyist-infested Congress that will be my main target (scroll down and you'll see what I think of Pelosi and Reid), because even though it is controlled by Democrats, all legislators (with a few exceptions) dine in the trough of corporate money, and until that corrupting flood of cash is once and for all halted, we will not have a government of the people.
So hold me to account as well. If I seem to be going too easy on Obama, call it.
