NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A couple pleaded guilty Thursday to hiring a stripper for their son's 16th birthday party and were sentenced to two years probation.Good grief! You can read the rest of it here.
Landon and Anette Pharris, who were charged with contributing the delinquency of a minor, also were ordered to take parenting classes.
The parents hired the stripper to perform at a September party attended by about a dozen young people.

Uptight Down in Dixie
Since it's Friday, how about something lighter? Here is one reason to get the hell out of the South. I realize that stripping can be an exploitive business, but really--should parents be arrested for giving their son a birthday thrill? After all, he didn't have sex with the woman (which I'm sure he wanted to)--not that that would make any difference, because the age of consent in Tennesee is fourteen, I believe, and young girls that age can be married off to lecherous old dudes with no problem. Anyway,
